What is a life enhancing environment and how does one bring it into being in our fast paced, technologically driven culture? What is the relationship between designed environments and our physical, emotional and spiritual health and well-being? These questions are at the heart of this program intended for health care providers, administrators, architects, designers and other professionals who have an interest in creating more life enhancing environments for living, working and healing.
The importance of spiritual care in the health and healing process has now been acknowledged. Unfortunately, there are few tools to assist health care providers and employers in addressing this aspect of care for patients and employees. The labyrinth walk and finger labyrinths are spiritual care tools that can meet this need while recognizing and honoring the diversity of religious and spiritual beliefs. Through the use of our portable labyrinth, participants will experience this spiritual care tool and explore how it can be used both professionally and personally. This program is intended for health care and worksite wellness professionals interested in exploring and developing their skills relating to spiritual care and learning to link their spiritual and professional lives.
Balancing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people at work is a necessary part of developing a productive, creative and healthy organization. Office environments need to enhance the quality of work-life as well as support quality work. This program offers new and innovative ideas for designing alternative office environments that integrate the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of life at work to meet the goals of the entire organization. This presentation is intended for facility managers, human resource managers, work-site wellness directors, architects, designers and others who are interested in the impact of the workplace environment on health, productivity, creativity and employee satisfaction.
Finding ways to support and nurture our spirits is something more of us are exploring today. As our lives become increasingly busy and over scheduled, it is often challenging to find a moment to slow down and experience the sacredness all around us. Our physical environments can play an important role in helping us to cultivate the sacred in our everyday lives. This program will explore how to create sacred spaces in the most ordinary of places. Through experiential exercises, you will be guided to discover your own sacred space and the importance of the elements you find there. This program is intended for anyone interested in learning how to use the elements of design to create a home for the soul.
